On Sunday, Adam Dix, my mother, 1500 ladybugs and I ventured to Tennessee Valley, north of San Francisco.
It was a beautiful sunny day, very pleasant weather for a photoshoot. Except for the wind, which doesn’t happen to be a ladybug’s best friend if they’re trying to sit on someone’s face.
Patience is key.

Two weeks ago I decided to bring out the inner child in my friend Dia.
We had lots of fun with her chasing this ship around, but neither of us realized that this might have led to a knee injury later.
Now, Dia is limping from too much flying and my heart breaks every time I see it. I owe her big time.
So a big shout out to Dia: YOU ARE AMAZING, THANK YOU SO MUCH, I WILL MAKE YOU COOKIES AND TEA TO MAKE IT UP TO YOU. And feel better, please.
She’s blessed me with her wisdom so many times, and only lately have I been able to really learn how to appreciate it.
She is one of the strongest people I know, she learned how to find happiness, when life gave her the sourest of lemons. She’s been through a lot in the last few years - more than she deserves, and still she manges to astound me with her persistence and love for life.
She inspires me to seize the day.
I love you, mom.
I found this little guy a while ago and I was itching to shoot him. I think I’ll come back to him again.
